Years in business: Almost one

Children:  Our beautiful one year old son, Abel

Other occupation? Stay at home mum

Your reason behind having a small business? To provide my clients with a quality, affordable spa/beauty experience with a more personal, family friendly atmosphere.

Best thing about having a small business? My beautiful clientele, they make my dream a reality! Having my own salon allows me to provide them with the spa experience they deserve and also allows me to provide the best life for my own family.

Hardest thing about having a small business? No back up staff.

Your biggest challenge with your business? Exposure, finding past clients.

One thing people might not know about you? I am a stockist of LA CLINICA FOR SKIN & BODY skin care, BE COYOTE Mineral Make up and JELLYSTONE DESIGNS Silicone Jewellery.

Aspirations for the future? To expand my home salon without losing the personal feel that makes it great!

The face behind the name- Hannah Little from Little Jay

Hannah Little  - Little Jay

http://www.facebook.com/littlejaydesigns

Years in business: almost 1 with little jay designs. 1st Birthday is early December.

Children: None yet though sometimes I feel like my fella is a three year old.

Other occupation? Graphic Designer and Teacher.

Your reason behind having a small business? It all started as a creative outlet when graphic design jobs were hard to find in the area. I started making things for myself and then for friends, then their friends and it grew and grew to where it is at today.

Best thing about having a small business? Meeting other talented and creative people. Always having something to do and never being bored.

Hardest thing about having a small business? Finding a spare minute to do nothing. Working from home makes it hard to have a break. You can’t exactly go home to get away.

Your biggest challenge with your business? Keeping up with orders. When I am sick, the business crashes to a halt as it is just me. I often need two of me.

One thing people might not know about you? That I am a graphic designer and a teacher in my normal life. Some people think I do little jay 24/7. It is 4th on the list after my day job, study and family.

Aspirations for the future? That everyone’s ears are one day friends with little jay earrings

The face behind the name- Little Me!

Jade Tauber  - Little Me Market

Years in business: almost 1 with Little Me (1.5 years with Baby Mumma)

Children: Connor - 3 years old and Noah - 1 year old

Other occupation? Teacher

Your reason behind having a small business? I also have another small business (Baby Mumma) and over talks with a friend who also had a small business we talked about how there was no 'Boutique' type market in the area, no outlet other then only for other work at home mums and small businesses to sell their goods in the area apart from the Rotary Market and second hand baby markets. Then the idea of Little Me was born, I researched and contacted the council, did lots of paperwork and lots of planning! I aimed to start with approximately 20 stalls and had an overwhelming response!

Best thing about having a small business? meeting new friends and supporting other businesses

Hardest thing about having a small business? Finances, Marketing, overcoming negativity and the weather!

Your biggest challenge with your business? Marketing - getting the word out there to EVERYONE about the market without spending thousands of dollars!

One thing people might not know about you? most people don't know I'm a teacher and that I'm majorly disorganised!

Aspirations for the future? that everyone on the Border and surrounds knows about Little Me

April Market

Our April Little Me Market is done and dusted and what a great day!

Mother Nature was once again on our side with gorgeous blue sunny skies.

This market saw 50 stall holders who offered a huge range of boutique items from jewellery to soft toys, mobiles to artwork.

Lots more people came down to the gorgeous Sumsion Gardens to visit- lots of families utilizing the parks while they were there. Fairy Dee painted hundreds of little faces with all proceeds going to the Flutterby Foundation.

James Eggleston played some great music creating an awesome atmosphere and many people enjoyed a sweet treat from Plush N Lush Cupcakes, Elegantly Caked, Carlys Cupcakes and Louisa Morris Cakes.

Personally I bought a gorgeous bib and wipes case set from Little Blue Owl, a couple of bracelets from Bec's Beaded Treasures, a teething ring for my littlest me from Koo-Ki-Nuts and some special goodies just for me from Three Potato Four and of course some yummy goodies!!

Our photo gallery is now up on our website at www.littlememarket.com and if there is a photo that you would like a copy of please let me know!

Applications for our May market are coming in fast with lots and lots of local businesses applying! The call out has come for yet more boys items so we are searching as best we can!

The countdown is on

Only 2 more sleeps until our April Market!! So exciting - or for me a little stressful!!

Today with thanks to our sponsor Albury/ Wodonga News Weekly, Little Me Market has both a quarter page advertisement and an article!

Our ad features Doodlebugs (who also designed the ad), Fairy Dee, Three Potato Four and Buttonup by Mands, as well as Baby Mumma, Edufun, Plush N Lush Cupcakes, Glamour Wheat Bags, The Fabric Florist, Pixi Foto and Audrey Aggie and Me. This was an awesome opportunity so that fans of these businesses knew they would be at the market! This ad will feature twice a month in Albury/ Wodonga News Weekly (free in your mail box on fridays- extra copies also available at the market)

The article tells some of our story and has a small photo accompanying also featuring some of our stall holder products. Many thanks to those who contributed their products for the photo.

I hope you have all checked out our website - www.littlememarket.com

This markets showbags are going to be AMAZING!! There are pens, magnets, vouchers, discounts, flyers, business cards and a few lucky people will even get a free pair of earrings from Pour Mes Amis. These showbags are for 50 lucky people and are not given out until 10am so being early wont help!! (harassing me or hovering while Im setting up before 10am probably wont help either but bribes may!! lol)

The weather looks like it is set to be amazing which is great news for us! So bring the kids down, bring dad so you can buy mums mothers day present, bring the grandparents and have a browse, get some balloons and facepainting, have some lunch, listen to some music and see and buy some lovely products from small businesses from the border!
